What we do
We provide specialist consultancy support in the most demanding and complex safety-critical environments, helping clients translate regulatory, safety, cyber, airworthiness, and operational obligations into practical delivery models.
Effective safety management in high-hazard environments requires more than compliance. It requires a clear understanding of how risk is structured, evidenced, and managed across complex systems and organisations.
We support safety case development, structured risk assessment, and the design of safety management frameworks that are proportionate, defensible, and aligned to the applicable regulatory context. We work with both the technical and organisational dimensions of safety, because in practice both matter equally.
Safety case development, review and assurance across aviation, defence and safety-critical domains, including military aviation regulatory environments and Defence Standard aligned approaches.
- Safety case development and review
- Bow-tie analysis and barrier modelling
- Hazard identification and risk assessment
- Safety management system design
- Air System Safety Case (ASSC) support
- Independent safety assurance
- ALARP demonstration
- Safety argument structuring
Military and civil airworthiness sits at the intersection of regulation, engineering, and programme delivery. Getting it right demands familiarity with the regulatory framework, the technical substance, and the organisational context in which both operate.
We provide support across the full airworthiness spectrum, from type certification under Part 21 through to continuing airworthiness under Part M, approved maintenance under Part 145, and MAA MRP compliance across the Air Engineers’ Toolkit. This draws on the team’s direct experience of how military airworthiness regulation is constructed and applied.
- MAA MRP compliance and gap analysis
- Part 21 type certification support
- Part M continuing airworthiness
- Part 145 maintenance
- Type Airworthiness Authority support
- Integrity management processes
- Configuration and modification management
- Airworthiness case development
Cyber security in defence and aviation is not a generic IT problem. The most consequential risks sit at the boundary between information systems and operational or safety-critical technologies, where a vulnerability is not just a data breach but a threat to mission, platform, or life.
Veriten's cyber capability is grounded in systems engineering. That means security is treated as a system property, defined by requirements, allocated across architecture, and verified against the threat, rather than applied as a checklist after the design is done. The team brings this discipline to Secure by Design delivery, OT and SCADA security, cyber assurance and accreditation, and the specific requirements of airworthiness security under DO-326A and ED-202, across defence, aviation, and CNI environments.
- Secure by Design (SbD) — JSP440, HMG policy
- Cyber security for airworthiness (DO-326A / ED-202)
- Threat modelling and vulnerability assessment
- Security architecture and cyber risk assessment
- OT and SCADA security — IEC 62443
- Cyber assurance and accreditation
- Supply chain security
- NIS D / NCSC CAF compliance
- Safety and security integration
- Cyber resilience and continuity
- Systems engineering for security-critical systems
- CNI cyber — rail, energy, nuclear
Where digital tools genuinely improve how safety and compliance processes are managed, we can design and deliver them. This capability is built on the Microsoft Power Platform and covers the full range of compliance process digitisation, safety management information systems, and data-driven assurance tooling.
Active delivery includes large-scale digitisation of AET safety processes within a MOD Dataverse environment. The emphasis is always on fit-for-purpose solutions that make regulatory processes cleaner, faster, and more auditable.
- Power Platform application development
- Compliance process digitisation
- Safety management information systems
- Dataverse data architecture
- Power BI compliance dashboards
- Workflow automation
- MODNet-compatible delivery
- System integration and migration
Regulatory compliance in complex organisations is rarely straightforward. Requirements span multiple frameworks, governance structures add layers of interpretation, and the gap between what regulation requires and what delivery actually looks like is often significant.
We work at this interface, helping organisations understand what is required, translate it into workable policy and process, and build the assurance mechanisms that demonstrate compliance with confidence. The founding team brings genuine regulatory literacy, not a checklist approach. Support spans MAA Regulatory Articles, Defence Standards, civil aviation requirements, Secure by Design expectations, and client-specific governance frameworks.
- Regulatory framework interpretation
- Policy and process development
- Compliance gap analysis
- Assurance framework design
- Governance structure review
- Regulatory engagement support
- Programme compliance planning
- Documentation and evidence standards
Veriten is an authorized distributor for Wolters Kluwer Enablon Bowtie Suite. BowTieXP is Enablon's enterprise bow-tie risk analysis software, widely used across high-hazard industries for structured barrier-based risk management. We provide reseller, implementation, and configuration services for organisations deploying BowTieXP within their safety management systems.
That depth comes from a personal track record that includes introducing BowTie methodology into UK military aviation, managing the BowTieXP capability on behalf of the MOD, enterprise implementation for the Swiss Military Aviation Authority, a proof-of-concept enterprise deployment for OCIMF incorporating an audit-based compliance framework, and BowTie Suite software training delivery for ATR in Toulouse. This work was undertaken prior to Veriten's establishment and gives the business a depth of understanding that goes well beyond standard reseller or implementation support.
- BowTieXP licencing and resale
- Implementation and configuration
- Bow-tie facilitation and development
- Template and barrier library design
- Integration with SMS frameworks
- User training and onboarding
- Ongoing support and maintenance
- Enterprise deployment
